I read an article in the newspaper recently on beauty. And yes there are a million and one articles to tell us how we should or could look. Products and rituals that keep us all pumped up on lookingbeautiful. No crime in that right??
Hmm...think again and honestly tell me if we've all gone a bit too far in this drama of looking 'perfect'. This is no new thing I know but there comes a time when we as individuals can make a difference to change the world around us for the better.
Caitlin, the editor of http://operationbeautiful.com has started something simple yet powerful to help us be that instrument of encouragement.
"The goal of the Operation Beautiful website is to end negative self-talk or “Fat Talk.” If this little blog only does one productive thing, I hope it helps readers realize how truly toxic negative self-talk is — it hurts you emotionally, spiritually, and physically."
We've all been told that beauty comes from within but to actually believe and live it takes time and encouragement. I truly believe that little acts of kindness and encouragement can go a long way in helping ourselves and others see beauty in a different light.
Just as the 'proud peacock', we are made unique and beautiful. Go spread the good news to the rest!
God's PERFECT creation, YOU are!
But let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. ~ 1 Peter 3:4
